This class is designed for general personnel who may encounter or work near electrical equipment but are not qualified to perform any electrical work.

Electricity is an integral part of today’s world, but it has the potential to cause severe damage. Electrical safety regulations and innovation have dramatically reduced the risk of harm from electricity in the past 50 years. Yet it has also generated a sense that electricity is no longer dangerous.
This course will cover basic principles of electricity, how shock and arc flash occur, common methods for preventing and minimizing these hazards and the injury they can cause. It is critical for everyone to be able to recognize electrical hazards and observe the safety measures commonly used to keep all workers safe.
